Journalist – Central Western Daily (Australian Community Media)

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I worked as a regional journalist reporting across Orange and the Central West.

My work captured how local communities adapted and supported one another, covering everything from healthcare updates and environmental research to artists, filmmakers and everyday people with extraordinary stories.

Digital Optimisation Producer – Nine News Australia

At Nine News Australia, I worked as a Digital Optimisation Producer managing video publishing and performance on the network’s YouTube channel.

I optimised breaking news and feature content to maximise reach and engagement, supporting coverage of major events including the 2019–2020 bushfire crisis, severe weather across NSW, global political developments, and popular segments from Today.

19 January 2020 – Cattle farmer runs nude in the rain

Cattle farmer Glenn Brown celebrated the much needed rain on his property by running nude in Kootingal, NSW.

8 January 2020 – Robert Downey Jr and Bob Irwin reunite after 16 years

Wildlife warrior Robert Irwin interviews Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr about new film ‘Dolittle’, and reminisces their first meeting 16-years-ago.

7 January 2020 – Turtle receives operation for farting problem

Rhea the turtle has received life saving treatment for their inability to fart.


Radio Journalist – 2BH/Hill FM Broken Hill

As a radio journalist with 2BH and Hill FM, I hosted the morning show and interviewed community leaders, academics and politicians.

The role allowed me to highlight the stories and conversations that mattered most to Broken Hill and the far west NSW community.

Freelance Journalist – Alternative Media Group

While studying journalism regionally, I freelanced with Alternative Media Group writing arts and culture stories for metropolitan audiences.

My work focused on theatre, comedy and performance, including coverage of shows involving Wil Anderson, productions by David Williamson and performances featured in the Sydney Festival.

17 December 2014 – Timber!

Bluegrass music, beautiful French people and most importantly, beards, will be featuring in the production Timber! at the Sydney Festival.

In an idealistic world, everyone wants to move into his or her stable home and live the perfect life with perfect surroundings. However, in the up-and-coming production, by David Williamson, things are not always what they seem.

Rekindling her passion for dance, Pamela Stephenson-Connolly is the inspiration and motivation for the electric and vibrant dance show Brazouka.


Intern – Sydney Morning Herald

In the final year of my journalism degree, I completed a five-week internship with The Sydney Morning Herald writing entertainment and culture stories.

My work covered film, television, music and the arts, including stories linked to MasterChef Australia, Gilmore Girls and the Archibald Prize.

29 June 2016 – Gilmore Girls season 1 to season 8 goes worldwide with Netflix from July 1, 2016

The drought on waiting for the witty, sarcastic, caffeinated yet-somewhat-stable Gilmore Girls is over as Netflix has announced it will stream all seven seasons in the lead up to the release of a new limited season, which revisits the Gilmores almost 10 years on.

5 July 2016 – MasterChef guest judge Peter Gilmore serves up fiendishly difficult dessert challenge

Little wonder the challenge of recreating Peter Gilmore’s iconic cherry jam lamington threw the remaining three MasterChef contestants into a tailspin.

6 July 2016 – Marvel directors Joe Russo, Anthony Russo to remake cult movie The Warriors into TV series

Can you dig it? Well Marvel film directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, certainly plan to unearth a new generation of fans for the 1979 cult movie classic, The Warriors, by daring to turn it into a television series.

15 July 2016 – Archibald Prize 2016: Indigenous Ken family claim Wynne Prize for landscape

When four of the sisters from the Ken family accepted the Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW on Friday it was with heavy hearts but many thanks.

17 July 2016 – Vinyl revival gathers steam as tables keep turning on struggling CDs

Digital downloads may be the future in music but vinyl records are far from dead. Vinyl sales rose 35 per cent while CDs dropped 10 per cent in 2015, according to the Australian Record Industry Association.

Before cassettes, CDs and downloading and streaming music, there was a disc that made the turntables spin and it was made of vinyl.

Intern – Rolling Stone Magazine Australia

After four years of persistently emailing and even physically mailing my resume, I finally secured an internship with Rolling Stone Australia in the final year of my journalism degree. During the placement I contributed music journalism and had the opportunity to interview Australian artist Dallas Frasca.

The experience was a personal milestone and allowed me to work within one of the world’s most recognised music publications while building hands-on experience in music and culture reporting.
